There is some evidence that intermittent fasting causes changes in the body that are different to those of other diets. This evidence is often limited to animal studies, with research specifically on people much harder to come by.
However, there is very strong evidence that when you actually ask people to eat differently, in the real world, there is pretty much no difference between fad diets.
