Honestly I’m not too fussed about taste. If bleach tasted great, would you be ok with people drinking it?
In terms of good animal husbandry; evidence says it doesn’t help. Unfortunately, many of the bacteria that make us sick (for example campylobacter) live happily in milk even if the cows are healthy. Add to this the fact that mastitis can be asymptomatic, and there’s nothing you can really do to tell if milk is going to poison you short of running a series of complicated tests. By which point it would’ve gone off anyway.
